Chocolate Orange Cosy

This is my quick yarn recipe.

Cosy – You will need:

3.5mm hook

Small amounts of brown, cream and green yarn. A red button. A tapestry needle …and a chocolate orange.

Using 3.5mm hook and brown yarn make a magic ring and work 6dc into ring. Six sts.

Rnd 1: 2dc into each st. 12 sts.

Rnd 2: (1dc in first st, 2dc in next st) to end. 18sts.

Rnd 3: (1dc in first two sts, 2dc in next st). 24sts.

Rnd 4: (1dc in first three sts, 2dc in next st). 30sts.

Rnd 5: (1dc in first four sts, 2dc in next st). 36sts.

Rnds 6-9: 1dc in each st to end.

Rnd 10: Change to cream yarn (1dc in next st 1roww down, 1dc in next st 2 rows down, 1dc in next st 1 row down) rep 11 times. 36sts.

Rnd 11: 1dc in each st to end. 36 sts. Weave in ends.

Ch 10 sts. Cut yarn and weave in the end of the yarn to the beginning of the chain sts, to create loop.

Holly Leaf

Using 3.5mm hook and green yarn make ch 6

Row 1: 1dc in second ch from hook, 3ch, 1sl st at base of ch, 1dc in next st, (1dc, 3ch, 1sl st at base of ch) 1ch, (1dc, 3ch, 1sl st at base of ch) in last ch, then work along the underside of the ch, (1dc, 3ch, 1sl st at base of ch) 1ch, (1dc, 3ch, 1sl st at base of ch, sl st in turning ch. Cut yarn and fasten off.

To make up

Sew the holly leaf and button firmly on top of the cosy. Pop the chocolate orange inside and fasten the loop over the button.
